Philip Yovetich

Philip Yovetich joined Quiroga Law Office in 2026, bringing extensive experience in immigration law, removal defense, litigation, and human rights advocacy. His professional background combines courtroom representation with community-based initiatives, policy development, and leadership. Throughout his career, Philip has focused on serving vulnerable communities while developing collaborative solutions to complex legal and humanitarian challenges.

Philip’s ambition for immigrant justice was forged both in his hometown of Seattle, WA, and overseas. Before beginning his legal career, he found himself on the beaches in Greece, providing aid to refugees fleeing the war in Syria, and in Cairo, studying international political sciences and post-colonial theory from luminaries in the field while the Arab Spring brought those theories to life in the streets below.

In the classrooms of the Seattle University School of Law, Philip studied immigration and international law during the COVID-19 pandemic and served as the co-president of the local chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project, as well as a student clinician in the Seattle University International Human Rights Law clinic.

In his professional work, he places human rights at the forefront, giving back to his community at every opportunity. He began his practice in 2022 as a Rule 9 defense attorney with the Housing Justice Project at TacomaProBono as part of Washington State’s right-to-counsel program for indigent tenants facing eviction. Once licensed with the Washington State bar, Philip moved his practice closer to home, where he served in Seattle as an immigration attorney for the Refugee Women’s Alliance, handling residency, naturalization, Special Immigrant Visas, and affirmative asylum cases.

As asylum and refugee issues in Western Washington grew at alarming speeds in 2023, Philip adapted his practice to handling removal defense matters. He was the Refugee Women’s Alliance’s first full-time removal defense attorney and helped to build programs from scratch in the service of hundreds of asylum seekers across the state of Washington.

Through partnerships with the Low Income Housing Institute and King County, one initiative provided legal assistance and rehousing support to more than 350 asylum seekers experiencing homelessness. Through another program, WA MASS, one of the first state-funded asylum assistance programs in the country, he provided services to nearly 1,000 clients in removal proceedings over two years. Meanwhile, Philip also co-led two citywide clinics serving naturalization and employment authorization applicants alongside Seattle’s Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.

With his combined experience in the law and in community building at home and around the world, Philip is grateful to be able to serve as a member of Quiroga Law Office’s defensive litigation team, where he serves his clients with skill, dedication, strength, and compassion.
