Jason Nagel joined Quiroga Law Office in 2025, bringing with him more than two decades of experience across criminal prosecution, government investigations, administrative adjudication, and immigration law. His legal career spans New York and Washington, combining litigation, public service, and regulatory enforcement. Jason is known for his incisive legal writing, commitment to justice, and deep understanding of government operations at both state and federal levels.
Jason earned his Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 1999, after completing a Master of Science in Journalism at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Brandeis University, where he graduated cum laude with honors. His early academic and professional training helped develop his analytical and communication skills, which have guided his work in both legal and public-facing roles.
Before joining Quiroga, Jason served as a Judge with the Washington State Office of Administrative Hearings in 2021, presiding over cases related to unemployment insurance and issuing written legal decisions. Previously, he spent over 15 years as Investigative Counsel for the Office of the New York State Comptroller. There, he advised on white-collar crime investigations and collaborated with U.S. Attorneys, State Attorneys General, and District Attorneys, securing convictions in cases involving embezzlement, fraud, and public corruption. Jason also served as an ethics advisor and reviewed official communications on behalf of the State Comptroller.
Earlier in his career, Jason worked as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx, where he prosecuted criminal cases and handled arraignments and trial preparation. He also served as Legislative Associate in the New York State Assembly, where he supported residents and businesses in Lower Manhattan in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. In 2002, he practiced immigration law independently, securing political asylum and preparing citizenship applications for clients with complex legal needs.
In addition to his legal practice, Jason has applied his skills in academia and media. He taught writing and literature as an adjunct professor at Touro College, where he received top peer and student evaluations. He also worked in communications at Yeshiva University, writing news articles and placing expert commentary in national media outlets. These roles enhanced his clarity of expression and ability to translate complex ideas to diverse audiences—skills he continues to apply in legal advocacy.
Jason is a licensed attorney and a dedicated public servant, having also served as an Arbitrator in New York Civil Court and a Community Board Member in Manhattan. At Quiroga Law Office, Jason brings a wealth of litigation and public policy experience to support immigrant families with clarity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.
